Some Woman

'I don't want to be this woman.' Julie Robson is used to being overlooked. At work, at home, everywhere in between. But when an unsettling encounter on a station platform leaves her in the spotlight, something shifts within her and she feels compelled to make a stand. Some Woman is a gripping and provocative play which asks what happens when an ordinary woman pits herself against the forces of the world and refuses to stay quiet. Helen Edmundson's play is premiered at the National Theatre, London, in 2026, directed by Blanche McIntyre, with Anne-Marie Duff as Julie.
