Ten Nesting Swallows

A counting book for the youngest reader that connects birds of the bible with relevant scripture quotes.Ten Nesting Swallows is a beautifully illustrated counting book that counts down from ten birds to one, beginning with ten nesting swallows and ending with one dove. Counting backwards is a challenge for toddlers, but doing so this way, with colorful images and help from an adult, offers a natural connection. The Bible quotes offer the youngest readers a spiritual connection and give the book an evergreen feel. The simple text and vibrant artwork keep it appropriate for preschool age children. Praise for Tammar Stein's Beni's War "Stein masterfully weaves together the country’s rich cultural heritage and tenacity with the anxieties and sorrows of war. Using strong characters, striking landscapes, and accurate historic details, she provides a gripping glimpse of Israel in the 1970s. Readers will be motivated by Beni’s perceptiveness and inspired by the strength he demonstrates through acceptance―even towards the enemy." ― Rebecca Redinger, Lincoln Park Branch, Chicago P.L, Library Journal (Starred Review)
