In the old French city of Marseille, it's Christmas Day and Martin the shoemaker is eagerly expecting a very special guest. As the day goes on, Martin provides warmth for a shivering street sweeper, gives a meal to a young mother, presents shoes to a little boy with bare feet, and offers company to a lonely old woman. But when night falls, Martin's special guest still hasn't arrived . . . Or has he?
